General Motors talks with five governments to get aid

General Motors authorities are contacting government officials in Germany, U.K., Sweden, Canada and Thailand to get a financial support of $6 billion in addition to the stimulus package it received from U.S. federal agencies.

The motors company has a detailed plan for the utilization of the stimulus package and the company is targeting a saving of at least $1.2 billion from its operations in Europe. The company is also planning an expansion program in Asia for which it needs aid.
