Holiday retail sales lower than expected

Even in the post holiday week the retailers are getting customers less than expected and sale is much lower than the Industry expectations. The shoppers had privileged huge discounts to the customers before the Christmas and the benefits are not as expected even in the post Christmas season.

The Mastercard vice president of research and analysis, Michael McNamara said that the market would have come up with a negative report if the initial rush to the markets after the Thanksgiving week wouldn’t have taken place. Redbook Research said that the marketers were expecting a high sale after a low that did not happen.
