Starbucks Corp. announced to close 600 company stores

The numbers of U.S. coffee drinkers going to the Starbucks coffee shops to get the $4 brew are reduced. Starbucks has announced to close 600 US stores.70% of the stores that have been planned to be closed were opened in the year 2006.

The company will also be laying off 12,000 workers that accounts for the 7 percent of Starbucks’ global work force and the changes will be made effective from late July to middle of 2009.
