Television writer’s strike results in cancellation of pre-election debate
The debate amongst the Democratic presidential candidates that was scheduled to be held on Dec. 10 has been cancelled by the Democratic National Committee as most of the candidates wished to opt out of the debate to not to cross lines in the prevalent labor dispute between the TV writers and CBS.
The communications director for the committee said that the debate is not postponed and no other date has been fixed for it to be held.
The television and movie writers are on strike since Nov. 5 .the debate was set to take place at the CBS Television city. The debate was planned to be made available on the website of CBS.
