Asian and African immigrants to U.S. should be screened for TB

A Journal of the American Medical Association said that the people immigrating to U.S. from African and Asian countries should be screened for TB to prevent importing the disease into U.S.
The department said that the refugees from Philippines and Vietnam constitute most of the people coming to U.S. having tuberculosis. It said that every year from 2001 to 2006 on an average, 250 people immigrating to U.S. from Philippines and Vietnam have detected positive for the contagious disease.
