High reading Glucose strips recalled

The test strips made by the Bayer’s Contour TS Blood Glucose Meter that tests for the high levels of blood-glucose give very high readings and they have been recalled after the announcements made by the FDA. FDA reported that the high levels of readings will make the diabetes patients to take high levels of insulin and that will be harmful for them.

The other Bayer meters Ascensia Contour and Ascensia Breeze2 systems have not been recalled. On routine monitoring by FDA it was found that the glucose meters were giving high readings that ranged from 5% to 17% too high. Bayer said that they have corrected the strips reading in their manufacturing equipment that were showing error as they were new and not corrected.
