Middle aged people whose parents suffer from Alzheimer may have memory of some 15 years older. Not all the children of parents suffering from Alzheimer’s carry the gene that causes loss of memory. The gene that affects memory is ApoE4 and 20 to 25 percent of population carries the gene.

The study reports were given by Dr. Sudha Seshadri, an associate professor of neurology and the research was carried out on 715 participants.
