Cyclone Laila hits the south Indian coast

On Thursday south Indian coast was hit by heavy rains and winds as the cyclone Laila slammed the coast. The wind speed was up to 90 kilometer per hour and many trees and electric lines were uprooted by the severe winds.

The state had evacuated more than 50,000 villagers from 800 coastal villages as Laila was reaching the coasts of Andhra Pradesh. In 24 hours more than 15 people got killed due to heavy rainfall and at least 55 fishermen were reported to be missing.
