Bridges closed across Mississippi

The flood water has flown downstream and after the water flowing along Illinois and Iowa rivers has poured into Mississippi. Many bridges, highways, rail roads have been forced to be closed.

The waters have flooded the fertile farmlands of the state and many people were rescued by helicopters from the flood waters. Amongst the rescued was a man who was standing on the top of his car amidst rising flood waters. President promised to speed up federal disaster relief activities to help the residents.
