Europe’s first lab launch get further delayed

The earlier two attempts by NASA carried out to launch the first European permanent space laboratory to the International Space Station failed due to the malfunctioning reported in the fuel sensors that are needed for the emergency engine.

The launch was expected to happen by January 10 but the repair work carried out in the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis ’s fuel tank has pushed the delay in launch further that can go to weeks.

The problem is in the electrical connections to the shuttle’s fuel tank and the suspected damaged part will be removed by Saturday. Similar problem was fixed many decades back in Atlas-Centaur rockets.
