NASA to have 3000 to 4000 job losses

As the space shuttles will stop flying in the coming two years, the jobs at the launching sites will be eliminated by the NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. It is estimated that 6000 – 7000 shuttle jobs will be eliminated and 3000 – 4000 positions will be vacated though the organization also informed of 3000 additional position in the new exploration programs.
The new jobs created will be for traveling to international space station and then to moon. Chairman of the space subcommittee, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said that this is step in the right direction.
