Amazon River basin was a densely populated town in 15th century

The researchers have found that the Amazon River basin had a few densely populated towns and a grid like settlement pattern was present there. The towns were connected by roads and networks and a sign of agriculture and fish farm is also visible.

Now the Upper Xingu, in west Brazil, is a densely forested area but the researchers are claiming that the urban communities existed in the region when the Europeans started coming to the Upper Xingu region in 15th century.
