U.S. tech companies demand subsidy in electric car battery industry

U.S. tech firms joined hands to form an alliance to demand a $2 billion of federal funding to create a center where the domestic lithium batteries will be manufactured and developed that will be used in transportation.
The technology companies are expecting that these batteries will be key to future automotive business and most of the manufacturing of these kinds of cars happens outside U.S., because the local government has been helping companies to build cars running on batteries.
