Bhutto’s PPP leading in general elections in Pakistan
The Pakistani People’s Party (PPP) party of the opposition leader Benazir Bhutto who got assassinated while campaigning for the elections will be getting the maximum seats in the general elections that was held yesterday in Pakistan and it may defeat the ruling party of President Pervez Musharraf in getting more seats.
The unofficial results of the general elections for about 215 seats of National Assembly ha been declared .The total seats voted in the elections were 272 .The Party of Mrs. Benezir Bhutto’s Pakistani People’s Party has currently won on more than 69 seats whereas Pakistan Muslim League headed by Nawaz Sharif has won over 62 seats and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League –Quaid has got victory over 29 seats.
