Earthquake injures more than hundred in Japan

A strong earthquake measuring 6.8 on Richter scale hit the central Japan region and the tremors lasted for 40 seconds .The earthquake caused injury to more than hundred people in Japan. About 6700 were left without powers and electricity and the Meteorological department issued warnings of aftershocks.
The earthquake started from eastern Honshu that is at about 25 km (15 miles) east-northeast of Morioka city and 80 km (50 miles) south of Hachinohe city at 12.26 a.m. The quake caused landslides and even led to cancellations of trains.12 people were reported to be missing and in debris of the buildings.
