India and France get into a nuclear co-operation pact

A nuclear bilateral co-operation pact has been signed by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and French President Nicolas Sarkozy that will allow France to sell French nuclear reactors to India.

The deal has been signed for cooperation in the field of energy and research and it was finalized after a meeting between the two leaders on Tuesday. The deal was sanctioned weeks after US house cleared a deal to allows America to give nuclear materials to India.
