Jindal carries out smoothest evacuation in hurricane hit area

It is said to be one of the smoothest evacuation in American history that was carried out by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Mayor Ray Nagin before the hurricane Gustav hit the region.

About 2 million residents were asked to leave the city and Nagin gave checking ID badges and automobile placards to the residents and about 80,000 residents stayed in shelters in Louisiana and other neighboring states.
