Musharraf to take oath for president

Musharraf ended the eight years of Military rule in Pakistan after getting down from the army chief rank on Wednesday.
General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is the new army chief of Pakistan who is considered to be a loyalist to Musharraf. Kayani has been the head of the intelligence agency of Pakistan, Inter Services Intelligence.
A complex political situation is prevalent in Pakistan and the country is already facing threats from militant groups like Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Pervez Musharraf will be taking the oath for the civilian president today in a ceremony in Pakistan as a step to regain democracy in the country.
