Rice meets Libyan leader after almost three decades of rift

The U.S. secretary of state Condoleezza Rice shook hands with the Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and she spent a few hours in Libya that was an historic moment for U.S. that has been maintaining a three decade animosity with Libya.

America broke relations with the oil rich country Libya after it found the country supporting terrorism. The Bush government was in needed to renew the relations with the country and the meeting is considered to be a success for Bush government before the general elections.
