South African government condemns attacks on East Timor President

The international community has condemned the attacks on the President of East Timor Jose Ramos Horta by the rebel groups. The South African government has joined the countries that issued their condemnation on the attacks made on the President.

The President of East Timor, Ramos-Horta, 58, is a Nobel laureate who got the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1996 for his struggle for Independence of East Timor from Indonesia .He is currently getting treated in an Australian hospital for the serious injurious he suffered after the attacks on him.
